New Growth

Whew … quite a while between updates, but those are the rigors of having two working parents and a toddler. Very excited for next week, as we head of on a much needed vacation, and I can spend a little time making some seascapes with the good old neutral density filter. In the meantime, we’ve focused on calming the tornado of toys in our house, and getting the outside a little more spruced up. That sprucing up includes, but is not limited to, some nice hanging flowers on our front porch … which, of course, promptly died. For the last few weeks that junior was heading to a family member’s house for the day as school wound down for my wife, I had noticed a little bird (a wren, I believe) flying in and out of one of the very dead hanging baskets. It seemed to take off every time I opened the front door. Curiosity got the better of me, and I peeked inside the basket to find three little blue eggs. A few weeks later, these guys appeared! It’s been a lot of fun to hoist Max up to take a look (from a distance of course) and he seems very interested in watching mama bird come and go with bits of food. I just hope his eating preferences don’t shift to something like that …
